Do you want to go to law school? Get there faster and save tuition.

Detroit Mercy's Accelerated 6-Year (3+3) Law Scholars Program allows students to save time and money by earning their undergraduate degree and a law degree with six years of full-time study instead of the traditional seven. As a broad overview, students spend the first three years at the McNichols Campus fulfilling the requirements of the University Core Curriculum and the major (90 credits). The last three years are at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law completing the Juris Doctor requirements. In the College of Liberal Arts & Education, qualifying majors are Economics, English and Political Science.

    Economics Major

    Students majoring in economics develop their analytical talents in ways that will help them apply careful reasoning skills and gain a unique perspective on human behavior. These skills aid in helping predict the effects of particular rules, explain why certain rules exist and analyze whether they should exist.

    English Major

    The study of English allows students to develop the ability to read and analyze texts that are complex and sophisticated, many of which deal with legal topics. Students majoring in English generally score higher on the GRE, LSAT, MCAT exams and earn higher scores on the GMAT exams than undergraduate business majors.
